Softball Recap: Sunnyslope Beats Apollo for Their Third Straight Victory

Sunnyslope had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Apollo Hawks as they made off with a 17-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 back in March.

Bryn Daley looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.

At the plate, Molly Nordstrom was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Miriam Boice was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Sunnyslope kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Sunnyslope's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Apollo, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Sunnyslope didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-1 win against Anthem Prep on the 19th. As for Apollo, they have also already played their next match, a 14-4 victory against Cesar Chavez on the 21st.
