Basketball Recap: Skyler Covington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brewster over Okanogan

Brewster lost against Okanogan back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Brewster Bears fell 67-57 to the Okanogan Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 61st).

Brewster's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skyler Covington, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Covington a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Mccarthy, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Brewster and nudges their season record down to 4-16. As for Okanogan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Brewster will challenge Liberty Bell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brewster is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. Okanogan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
