Basketball Recap: Dabrianna Pharr Key Part of a Team Effort in Raiders Win

South Rowan's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 40-31 victory over the Carson Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

South Rowan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dabrianna Pharr out in front who posted six points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kynlee Dextraze, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.

South Rowan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Carson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rylee Hedrick, who had six points in addition to nine steals and seven boards, and Allie Martin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 48.4% of Carson's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

South Rowan's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Carson, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

South Rowan will head out to take on Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Norman Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. As for Carson, they will welcome Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
