Baseball Recap: Purdue Polytechnic Takes a Loss

If Purdue Polytechnic was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Tri on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Techies fell 11-7 to the Titans on Saturday. The Techies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Vincent Samaro was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Purdue Polytechnic's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Tri, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-14-1.

Looking ahead, Purdue Polytechnic will host Christel House at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Techies are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Tri, they will head out to square off against South Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
