Basketball Game Preview: Charlotte Latin Hawks vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

The Charlotte Latin Hawks and the Stuart W. Cramer Storm will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Stuart W. Cramer is hoping to do what Pine Lake Prep couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Charlotte Latin's winning streak, which now stands at nine games. Charlotte Latin really took it to Pine Lake Prep for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-18 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-6.

Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 61-16 win over the Mountaineers. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 534th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlotte Latin better focus on containing Oshauna Holland and Lauren Humphrey as the pair were huge in Stuart W. Cramer's win. Holland went 11 of 15 on her way to 26 points along with eight assists and six steals, while Humphrey went 9 for 13 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Holland has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 39 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Womack, who posted six points.

Stuart W. Cramer's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Charlotte Latin, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
