Basketball Recap: Union Grove's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Union Grove had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-23 victory over the Waterford Wolverines. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Samantha Hafferkamp was her usual excellent self, shooting 62% from the field on her way to 21 points and five steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Smith, who posted five points in addition to five boards and four steals.

The win (which was Union Grove's ninth in a row) raised their record to 23-2. As for Waterford, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Union Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-31 victory against Burlington on the 1st. Waterford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
