Baseball Recap: River Ridge Triumphs

River Ridge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wauzeka-Steuben, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Timberwolves never let the Hornets get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Timberwolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Blake Reynolds made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Cael Koenig was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Noah Copsey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

River Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, River Ridge will head out on the road to challenge Fennimore at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wauzeka-Steuben, they will face off against North Crawford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
