Softball Recap: Southport Cardinals vs. Franklin Central Flashes
Southport and Franklin Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Southport had to settle for second. They lost 15-7 to the Flashes. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Flashes recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Natalie Vaeth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Kayden Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Southport now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Franklin Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.
