Softball Recap: South Fork's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Fork can now relate to. They came up short against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders on Thursday, falling 10-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this contest were averaging 3.46 runs allowed.

South Fork saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Ortiz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

With the loss, South Fork broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-7. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.

South Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will square off against Niceville at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
