They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Scranton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wallenpaupack Area in their matchups with Scranton: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Wallenpaupack Area lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Podrazil. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Scranton can attribute much of their success to Billy Maloney, who threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Memphis Shotto got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Wallenpaupack Area's loss was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Scranton, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wallenpaupack Area will take on Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dallas will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Scranton, they will head out on the road to face off against Abington Heights at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th.
