Baseball Recap: White Pine Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, White Pine finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Elko Indians by a score of 2-0. The Bobcats have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

White Pine's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Elko, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as White Pine Bobcats challenge Awaken Christian Lions at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Awaken Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.82 runs per game on average), something White Pine will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elko, they will head out on the road to face off against Spanish Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
