Plainview hadn't done well against St. Joseph's - Plaucheville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hornets blew past the Eagles 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Plainview, bringing their record up to 13-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph's - Plaucheville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
