Recap: Leonard Tigers vs. Holliday Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Leonard Tigers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Holliday on Friday, falling 42-6. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, Leonard couldn't push the score so high this time.
Grant Cox got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 92 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 159 yards and a touchdown on only 15 passes. Another player making a difference was Parker Jones, who gained 83 total yards and a touchdown.
Leonard has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Holliday, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Leonard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holliday will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jacksboro at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Jacksboro is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
