Softball Recap: Ocosta Has No Trouble Against Oakville

Ocosta had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 6-3 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Oakville Acorns with a sharp 26-5 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Jolissa Schlegel was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Elly Mirante, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Oakville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Ocosta: they've now lost five in a row.

On Oakville's side, Taryn Baker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Baker has hit this season.

Coming up, Ocosta will challenge Toledo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oakville, they will square off against Lake Quinault at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
