Basketball Game Preview: Elida Bulldogs vs. Defiance Bulldogs

The Elida Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Defiance Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elida is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Elida came up short against Ottoville and fell 58-46. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Big Green are ranked 53rd).

Meanwhile, Defiance took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 52-12 win over Swanton. That looming 52-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Defiance yet this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Defiance and bumps their season record up to 8-11. As for Elida, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Everything went Elida's way against Defiance when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Elida made off with a 49-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elida since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
