Softball Game Preview: Union Local Jets vs. Bridgeport Bulldogs

Union Local has gone a perfect 3-0 against Bridgeport recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Jets will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Union Local and four for Bridgeport.

Union Local came up short against Caldwell on Monday, falling 14-3.

Alli Kellaway made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Bridgeport came up short against Shenandoah on Monday and fell 15-10.

Bridgeport got a massive performance out of Addie Snodgrass, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Drummond, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Union Local's record now sits at 5-17. As for Bridgeport, their record is now 8-13.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Union Local has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bridgeport struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Union Local got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 against Bridgeport by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
