Recap: Waccamaw Warriors vs. Loris Lions
The Waccamaw Warriors lost against the Loris Lions back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The game between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Waccamaw falling 52-37. They have not had much luck with Loris recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Hart, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals. Hart has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jerridan Burgess was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Loris found their leader in underclassman KHALID SHERMAN, who scored 20 points along with three steals. SHERMAN's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was JAMARIUS WILSON, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Waccamaw has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Loris, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Waccamaw will head out on the road to take on Manning at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Manning focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday. As for Loris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aynor at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aynor is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
