Football Recap: Jayden Faulkner Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win

There's no place like home for Fremd, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Palatine Pirates by a score of 23-13 on Friday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 28-21 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Fremd's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Faulkner, who rushed for 51 yards and two scores, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns Faulkner has posted since back in September of 2024. Marquan Brewster was another key pass catcher, picking up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Fremd's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Palatine, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Fremd and Palatine should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 14th) will meet Schaumburg (ranked 173rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Palatine will take on Conant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (42 vs. 160).
