Madison Prep Academy will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Liberty Magnet Patriots at 4:00 p.m. Madison Prep Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with flashy run totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Liberty Magnet likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Madison Prep Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Peabody, taking the game 11-6.
Kaila Bentley and Kyndal Robertson were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Bentley struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Robertson struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Bentley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. In other batting news, Tabrina Knighten was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmin Robertson, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Liberty Magnet gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Tara with a sharp 25-10 victory. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
Madison Prep Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Liberty Magnet, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8-1.
