Softball Recap: Big Bear Comes Up Short

Big Bear was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Excelsior Charter Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 16-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Kira Ellsworth and Layla Navarette did some serious damage despite the final result: Ellsworth scored two runs off of three hits, while Navarette scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Big Bear's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Excelsior Charter, they moved to 7-7-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Big Bear by a score of 11-8 on Thursday.
