Baseball Game Preview: Dunmore Bucks vs. Old Forge Blue Devils

The Dunmore Bucks will head out to take on the Old Forge Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dunmore is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Dunmore might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-9 to Riverside, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Anthony Yerka made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Mizenko, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Old Forge sidestepped Honesdale for a 3-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Elio Castaldi was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Old Forge is 4-1 when Castaldi posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise.

Dunmore's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Old Forge, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Dunmore got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Old Forge by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
