Soccer Game Preview: Centralia vs. Collinsville

The Centralia Orphans will face off against the Collinsville Kahoks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centralia's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Centralia managed to keep up with Freeburg until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Orphans came up short against the Midgets, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Collinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to O'Fallon. While losing is never fun, Collinsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 141st, while O'Fallon are ranked first).

Collinsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Centralia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-3.
