Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss

Catholic Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-25 loss at the hands of the Greeneview Rams. The Irish lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 40-37 score last time.

Despite the loss, Catholic Central still got an impressive performance from Danaysha Dearmond, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points and eight boards. Dearmond continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Keera Jeffers also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Greeneview, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11.

Catholic Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-17 loss against Chaminade Julienne Catholic on the 3rd. As for Greeneview, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-39 victory against Shawnee on the 3rd.
