Recap: North Vermillion Falcons vs. North Central Thunderbirds
The North Vermillion Falcons struggled with assists on Saturday (the North Central Thunderbirds had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Vermillion took a 63-46 bruising from North Central. If North Vermillion hoped to take revenge for the 63-47 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, North Vermillion still got an impressive performance from Lauren Ellis, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Dunham, who scored ten points.
Leading North Central to victory were Shelby Seay and Jalyn Davidson. Seay scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Davidson scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kimber Ladson, who scored nine points along with two steals.
North Vermillion's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for North Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Vermillion will square off against Crawfordsville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Crawfordsville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for North Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Dugger Union at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dugger Union is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home.
