Baseball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Stockdale, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Patriots fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered against the Mustangs since May 19, 2023.

Braden Turman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Liberty is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-15 otherwise. Brogan Witcher was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for Stockdale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-8.

While Liberty had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
