Recap: Memorial Lutheran vs. Family Christian Warriors
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Memorial Lutheran ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Family Christian 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Memorial Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Porter, who scored 27 points. The match was Porter's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Steven Porter was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Memorial Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Family Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial Lutheran will be home for the holidays to greet YES Prep Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. YES Prep Northwest is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Family Christian, they will play host again and welcome School of the Woods, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
