Fairfax had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Sierra Linda Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Stampede have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.
Emma Saiz made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Saiz was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Fairfax let Alexa Quiroz and Ava Nez run wild. Quiroz scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Nez went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Quiroz has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Hardin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfax will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Copper Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sierra Linda, they will face off against Westview at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
