Softball Recap: Mortimer Jordan Takes a Loss

Mortimer Jordan and Athens squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mortimer Jordan had to settle for second. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lexi Bowman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Keeton White, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Mortimer Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 20-23. As for Athens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Mortimer Jordan nor Athens have any future games scheduled.
