Basketball Recap: Silver Bluff Extends Winning Streak to Four

Silver Bluff had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-38 victory over the Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Silver Bluff's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deshawn Wells led the charge by going 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyrell Williamson, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Silver Bluff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brian Mcmillian, who had ten points. Marcus Cann was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Silver Bluff's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Silver Bluff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-39 victory against Strom Thurmond on the 9th. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-49 win against Barnwell on the 9th.
