Jayton waltzed into their contest on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They blew past the Aspermont Hornets, posting a 96-31 win. Given the Jaybirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Hornets are ranked 1205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jayton pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points over those games. As for Aspermont, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.

Looking ahead, Jayton will face off against Gruver at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Aspermont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
