Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 20-7 to the Socorro Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Bulldogs since March 30, 2021.

ZACHARY RODRIGUEZ led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of JADEN ENGELS, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 7-19-1. As for Socorro, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Franklin is set to take on their familiar foe Eastlake at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Socorro will square off against rival Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
