Basketball Recap: Riverside Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Riverside Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 45-18 takedown of Berean Baptist Academy back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Riverside Christian Academy Royals were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 44-43 to the Howard Eagles. The Royals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 52-23.

Riverside Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlee Revell, who went 6 of 8 en route to 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Revell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brelyn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Riverside Christian Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Howard, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.

Riverside Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-19 win against Fayetteville Academy on the 20th. Howard has also already played their next matchup (against Alpha Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
