Basketball Game Preview: Cary Imps vs. Middle Creek Mustangs

The Cary Imps just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Middle Creek Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cary came up short against Green Hope on Monday, falling 46-26. The Imps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middle Creek). They took down Holly Springs 69-54 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Cary better focus on containing Alysia Pergerson and Sarah Grace Furst as the pair were huge in Middle Creek's win. Pergerson posted 22 points, while Furst put up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noa Turner, who had seven points.

Middle Creek's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Cary came out on top in a nail-biter against Middle Creek when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 45-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cary since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
