Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Robbinsville's Winning Streak

After flying high against Hiwassee Dam last Friday, Robbinsville came back down to earth. The Black Knights took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Murphy Bulldogs on Tuesday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Black Knights, who until this matchup were averaging 2.8 runs allowed.

Robbinsville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Suri Watty, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Sophie Roberts was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Robbinsville moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Murphy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Robbinsville will face off against Smoky Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murphy, they will challenge the Black Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
