Basketball Recap: Centennial Baptist Comes Up Short

Centennial Baptist lost against Notus back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Centennial Baptist Mustangs had to suffer through a 75-39 loss at the hands of the Notus Pirates. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Notus to victory were Benny Guevara and Derrick Huter. Guevara went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Huter almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Guevara a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Vargas, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Centennial Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Notus, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Centennial Baptist has already played their next match, a 54-45 defeat against Wilder on the 24th. As for Notus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-32 victory against North Star on the 24th.
