Softball Recap: Todd County Central Comes Up Short

Todd County Central lost to Butler County back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rebels fell 7-3 to the Bears.

Addison Woodall was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed over her last six contests. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Naomi Welborn made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Naomi Gammon, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Todd County Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season. As for Butler County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Todd County Central will take on Russellville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Butler County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Ohio County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
