Baseball Game Preview: Poultney Blue Devils vs. Proctor Phantoms

Poultney hasn't had much luck against Proctor recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Phantoms at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Poultney took an 18-run loss the last time they faced off against West Rutland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Golden Horde 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted against the Golden Horde since April 26, 2022.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Proctor sidestepped Paine Mountain for a 17-16 win.

Riley Cannucci was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Domonic Bourdeau, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Proctor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Poultney, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
