Soccer Game Preview: Jackson vs. Pike County

Jackson is 2-8 against Pike County since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Jackson will challenge Pike County at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Jackson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Rutland get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Jackson's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Pike County won against Rutland on Wednesday with ten goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Pike County blew past Westside 10-0. The result was nothing new for Pike County, who have now won ten matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Pike County pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those five contests. As for Jackson, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.

Jackson might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Pike County in their previous matchup on March 11th. Can Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
