Basketball Recap: Aberdeen Comes Up Short

Aberdeen was the 44-25 winner over North East when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Aberdeen Eagles fell to the North East Indians 44-40.

North East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sariah Sanon led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and 20 boards. Sanon also posted five blocks, which is notable because North East is 6-1 when she posts at least five blocks, but 5-8 otherwise. Kierstyn Lagano was another key player, putting up 11 points and four blocks.

Aberdeen's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for North East, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Aberdeen has already played their next contest, a 63-36 win against Elkton on the 20th. As for North East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-16 loss against Rising Sun on the 20th.
