Soccer Game Preview: Downers Grove North vs. St. Charles East

The Downers Grove North Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Charles East Fighting Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Downers Grove North will be strutting in after a victory while St. Charles East will be coming in after a defeat.

Downers Grove North is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Proviso West get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what Downers Grove North needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, after a string of 14 wins, St. Charles East's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 4-1 to Lane Tech. St. Charles East were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but Lane Tech's defense proved too tough.

St. Charles East's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Downers Grove North, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-3.
