Gray's Creek and Purnell Swett are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. Gray's Creek will be playing at home against Purnell Swett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gray's Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Gray's Creek is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 24th on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost seven in a row.

Gray's Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davis Reed, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Purnell Swett got themselves on the board against Seventy-First on Wednesday, but Seventy-First never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their two-run performance the match before.

Conley Jacobs was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Purnell Swett's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Chandon Sanderson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Purnell Swett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seventy-First only posted an OBP of .118.

The win got Purnell Swett back to even at 6-6. As for Gray's Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gray's Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Purnell Swett struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Gray's Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Purnell Swett in their previous matchup on March 4th, winning 15-10. Does Gray's Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Purnell Swett turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
