Preview: Walton Braves vs. West Florida Jaguars
Two dominant guards in Luke Kring and Brayden Justice are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Walton Braves will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the West Florida Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Walton didn't have too much trouble with Bay on the road as they won 58-42. Given Walton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Bay is ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Florida suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Destin by a score of 62-60.
Walton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for West Florida, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Walton came out on top in a nail-biter against West Florida in their previous matchup last Friday, sneaking past 48-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
