Softball Game Preview: Valley Indians vs. Fairfield Lions

The Valley Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfield Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.

Valley's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Clay. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Fairfield duked it out with Southeastern on Friday. The Lions fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Fairfield, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-6.

Valley suffered a grim 21-5 defeat to Fairfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
