Baseball Game Preview: Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers vs. Ortonville Trojans

The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers will square off against the Ortonville Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton easily dispatched Central Minnesota Christian on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Panthers fell just short of Wabasso by a score of 13-11 on Tuesday. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Brody Hauger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Trevor Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Ortonville nor MACCRAY made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Trojans fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost three in a row.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ortonville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton came out on top in a nail-biter against Ortonville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
