Basketball Recap: Weston Ranch Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Weston Ranch extended their home winning streak to nine games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Darrion Lilly. The Weston Ranch Cougars took down the Bakersfield Christian Eagles 66-52 on Saturday thanks in part to Lilly, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Banks, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three).

Weston Ranch's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Bakersfield Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Weston Ranch will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Centennial at 1:00 p.m. on December 18th. Weston Ranch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bakersfield Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 82-23 victory against Foothill on the 11th.
