Baseball Recap: South Ripley Takes a Loss

South Ripley came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-1 to the Southwestern Rebels. The Raiders have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

South Ripley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason McNew, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Ripley's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Southwestern, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, South Ripley will be playing in front of their home fans against Rising Sun at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southwestern, they are taking a road trip to challenge New Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.57 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
