Basketball Preview: Coventry Comets vs. Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints
The Coventry Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coventry is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Even though Field scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Coventry still came out on top. Coventry took their game against the Falcons 71-59.
Coventry found their leader in underclassman Reggie Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Meinen, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Tuscarawas Central Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 70-48 defeat at the hands of Buckeye Trail. Tuscarawas Central Catholic has not had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Coventry's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
