The Brookfield Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Lowellville Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Brookfield managed to slip by Southeast the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors came up short against the Pirates on Tuesday, falling 9-1.
Brookfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Hardman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lowellville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Western Reserve 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Geno Perry was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lowellville is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise. Perry was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
In other batting news, Cody Nolfi was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Zak Sargent also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Lowellville's record now sits at 4-6. As for Brookfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brookfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lowellville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brookfield suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Lowellville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
