Volleyball Game Preview: Joliet Central Steelmen vs. Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings

Joliet Central hasn't had much luck against Homewood-Flossmoor recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Steelmen will head out to square off against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Joliet Central turned things around against Kankakee on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Kays.

Joliet Central easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Homewood-Flossmoor beat Bradley-Bourbonnais 2-0 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

While Homewood-Flossmoor won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15.

Homewood-Flossmoor's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Joliet Central, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-11.

Joliet Central couldn't quite get it done against Homewood-Flossmoor in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Steelmen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
