Basketball Recap: Limon Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Limon Badgers came up short against the McClave Cardinals and fell 60-49. The Badgers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Limon still got an impressive performance from Keagan Mellott, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Mellott is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Camdyn Tacha, who posted eight points.

McClave got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tuff Kelley out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Mason Barr was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Limon's loss dropped their record down to 4-5. As for McClave, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Limon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-42 defeat against Crowley County on the 24th. As for McClave, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-59 loss against Stratton on the 28th.
